Krzyston pleads not guilty

Alexander Krzyston, 22, pleaded not guilty to the charge of providing alcohol to a minor Tuesday at Cook County Circuit Court in Skokie, Ill.

His hearing, initially scheduled for Wednesday morning, was then moved to Tuesday night.

The former McCormick student, who graduated last year, appeared in court to answer felony charges stemming from the death of student Matthew S. Sunshine last June. The charges carry a maximum of three years in prison. Because the alleged provision of alcohol was fatal, the charge is a Class 4 felony, rather than a misdemeanor.

Circuit Court Judge Garritt Howard will hear the case on March 11.
