The Northwestern Wildcats beat Pitt 31-24 in the Pinstripe Bowl on Wednesday. The Pinstripe Bowl, held at Yankee Stadium (which was converted from a baseball diamond to a football field), was just the third bowl win in program history. Ending 2016 with a postseason win over Pitt, who edged out No. 5 Penn State (B1G champions) and No. 2 Clemson (ACC champions) came as a happy surprise for NU, which salvaged a winning 7-6 record after a slow 1-3 start.
