168 men accepted bids to Interfraternity Council chapters on the first night of Recruitment week Wednesday night. IFC postponed the start of Rush by one night after the University cancelled classes Monday and Tuesday.
16 fraternities are participating in IFC’s Winter Quarter Recruitment. Sigma Nu and Sigma Phi Epsilon have resumed Recruitment after reconstituting last school year, while Delta Upsilon was suspended by the University in November and is not participating.
The IFC chapter average was 10.5 bids accepted, according to data provided by IFC, with one chapter reporting an IFC-leading 23 accepted bids.
One-half of the 16 chapters served pizza for dinner and the most popular activity was casino night, with five chapters electing to entertain potential members with poker and other games.
IFC Recruitment continues through Saturday night. Panhellenic Association Recruitment begins Thursday night.
