In what might have been the biggest non-bowl game for the team in 18 years, No. 19 Northwestern (4-1, 0-1 Big Ten) faced off with the No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes (6-0, 2-0) Saturday night for homecoming, but fell 40-30. The hype was palpable as the then No. 16 Wildcats prepared to play their first conference game of the year against one of the most dominant teams in the country, which was in the midst of a 17-game winning streak.
With homecoming and a marquee matchup thrusting unprecedented attention onto the football program, the Wildcats had a major chance to make a statement on an even bigger stage. Unfortunately, poor red zone offense prevented Northwestern from toppling the Buckeyes in a thrilling game. Check out our photos from Saturday's exciting showdown.
