Haley Hinkle, Noah Star announce candidacy for ASG president

    Weinberg junior Noah Star and Medill junior Haley Hinkle announced their campaigns for Associated Student Government president Tuesday. The candidates have nine days to campaign before polls open for student voting on April 9.

    SESP junior Chris Harlow and McCormick junior Christina Kim will be running for vice president, alongside Hinkle and Star, respectively.

    Hinkle and Harlow's campaign, with its slogan "Build Up Northwestern," is focused on "building up" student wellness, inclusive community and student groups, according to their campaign website

    Star and Kim announced that their campaign will orient around accountability, accessibility and opportunity. Their slogan is "Listen then Lead." They will host a launch party Wednesday night at 8:30 p.m. at the Struble Theater.

    Hinkle currently serves as ASG's director for campus safety and transportation and has served as the president of Deering Days. Star previously served as speaker of the senate and as NCDC senator.
