A group of freshmen painted the Rock for a friend, Ethan Myers, McCormick freshman, who is considering transferring from Northwestern to Binghamton University in New York. Messages such as “Northwestern & SUNY Binghamton” and “Ethan Myers, Don’t Transfer! We care about u” decorated the wall surrounding the Rock, which bore a portrait of Myers himself. “Get thee to a nunnery,” a line from Shakespeare’s Hamlet, was painted on the back side of the Rock.
