The second annual DM talent show kicked off in Block 2, sponsored by the Dancer Relations Committee.
Mediated by Weinberg seniors, Hannah Weiss and Meredith Dehaas, dressed as Elmo and The Grouch, the talent show this year had some marked differences from last years'.
"The talent show last year happened in Block 9, and everybody was so exhausted," Weiss said. "It was much better this year."
The two also scouted talent for the show, which featured talents from beatboxing by Weinberg freshman Mark Fishman to freestyle rapping by Weinberg sophomore Hannah Merens.
"We really just went through the registration line and asked, 'Okay, who's talented?'" Dehaas said.
Hours later, Merens yelled"I'm gonna drop a little freestyle!" Merens yelled to an energized tent-full of students, not yet feeling the effects of six hours of dancing.
Bienen freshman, Nicolas Wagner, belted out the "Frozen" hit, "Let It Go," erupting the entire tent in cheers and enthusiastic singing along.
A last minute addition to the talent show, senior Tony Guerrero, begged with coordinators to perform in the show at the last possible second.
"He had been wanting to be a part of the talent show last year," Dehass said. "And this year was his last chance."
Guerrero twirled scarves as his talent, sporting multi-colored hair and a Superman onesie.
"Those guys have better dance moves than I do," DM emcee Kelsey Adams, a sophomore in Medill, said as the performers danced on stage to "Started From the Bottom" before the show.
