Former Governor Rod Blagojevich’s controversial talk on ethics was completely booked as of Monday afternoon. Northwestern’s College Democrats reported that 987 tickets had been picked up for Tuesday evening’s event, “Ethics in Politics: An Evening with Former Governor Rod Blagojevich.”
Tickets have been available since last Wednesday, so students had ample time to snag free tickets to hear the scoop on Blagojevich’s less than angelic political career. Those without tickets at this point are out of luck, as none will be available at the door.
Despite being plastered all over newspapers for his scandalous behavior, Blagojevich is still only a D-lister in the eyes of Northwestern students. Tracy Morgan tickets sold out in less than 30 minutes earlier last month. Maybe hosting an impromptu night at the Keg would increase Blago’s appeal among students.
Students and faculty who were able to get tickets will have a chance to pose questions to Blagojevich after his speech, and College Dems are expecting the crowd to be on its best behavior.
“We are very confident that Northwestern students and audience members will respect the rights of Blagojevich and the panelists to express their opinions freely and without interruption,” said Jordan Fein, President of the College Democrats.
