All right, so you cheated with TextVite: that appetizer platter you sent out on invitations came from a Google Images search. Shh! Before you stress about what to feed your guests, check out the Tailgating Recipes app. It includes recipes for easy, filling appetizers and finger foods as well as salsas, dips, spreads and even desserts. With foods like "Cheeseburger Tacos" and "Quarterback Blitz Bars," you will dazzle your guests so they forgive you for sending out the decoy appetizer picture.

Sure, it's basically just an advertising ploy, but that doesn't mean you can't have fun with this app. Upon downloading Chevy Game Time, it prompts you to register to win one of four Camaros featured in commercials that will run during and after the game. It also includes trivia about the game as it is going on and questions about the commercials right after they air. There is also live polling and Twitter feeds about what's going on in the game. Even if you don't win a Camaro, you can still entertain your guests with some trivia to see if they've been paying as much attention to the game as you are.

This app allows you to quickly search through hundreds of football-related terms and get definitions that are clear enough for even those who don't know their blitz from their block. If there's a word you just can't grasp even after it's come up multiple times, bookmark it for easy reference.

When the novelty of trivia games wears off, there's always that one guest who suggests playing a drinking game. Use the free 101 Drinking Games app to both satisfy this guest and to rid your house of booze in the best way possible. It contains over 250 games, so you're sure to find the one everybody will enjoy. Best of all, there's no need to search your house for a deck of cards or a pair of dice — you can use these features within the app. As long as you and your guests enjoy these games in moderation, you're sure to add a little more fun to your Super Bowl party.

If you're a Super Bowl commercial aficionado, use the A+ Superbowl Commercials app to collect your favorite ads all in one place and enjoy a laugh or two. This app works especially well for those who don't care about the actual game because it allows you to feast your eyes on the brand new commercials on the television during breaks. Then, you can enjoy some older ones on your phone while your friends are all busy screaming at the game.

Super Bowl Commercial Bingo (Android; $0.99)

Let's say you watched all of the commercials available on the A+ Superbowl Commercials app, but you still want more fun. If you're ready to make commercial breaks as competitive as the game itself, try out Super Bowl Commercial Bingo. When a certain brand name airs its commercial and you catch it, tap it on your phone and go for five in a row. It features the highest advertised companies so it'll become a race between you and your friends to spot the ads. So in case you wanted to make the commercial breaks even more fantastic than they already are, just play bingo and win a game of your own.

The diehards won't leave their seat until the last post-game show wraps, and the completely apathetic won't give the game a second of their time. But for everybody in between who wants to throw or partake in the ultimate Super Bowl party, there's an app for that.
