As of 12:01 a.m. Wednesday morning, polls for the ASG elections are officially open.
Election Commissioner Paul David Shrader, a Weinberg senior, said he and his colleagues are busy fielding last-minute questions from candidates about how much money they have left to spend and how many fliers they can print out and get initialed for tomorrow.
The elections won’t require much supervision because the whole process takes place online. Students log in to the ballot using their NetID and password and can vote once for each of the three positions in contention. Voting closes at 7 p.m. and Shrader said he expects to announce the results at the ASG senate meeting between 7:20 and 8 p.m.
Shrader said candidates Mike McGee, Communication junior, and Bill Pulte, Medill junior, are finishing making the rounds at dorms and he wasn’t sure of the whereabouts of Luke Adams, but said that the Weinberg junior was standing on Sheridan earlier in the day with a megaphone and a large, 3-D sign in the shape of a dollar bill.
In the day’s two other races, the candidates — Matt Bellassai for director of student life, and for Muhammad Safdari for academic director — will run only against a vote of “no confidence.”
Updated April 15, 11:35 a.m: The original version of this article stated that Bill Pulte is a Weinberg junior. He is actually a Medill junior. Thanks to reader a quick fact check! for pointing out the error.
