Well, Simon saw it coming — it’s the end of the line for Northwestern’s own John Park on American Idol. He was the first person to get the boot on Thursday night’s results show, and he sang “Gravity” by John Mayer, the song that got him thrown off in the first place. And he sang it really well — if he had performed like that on Tuesday, he might have been safe.

When talking to Ryan Seacrest, Park said he had no regrets and he enjoyed the experience and getting to meet his fellow contestants. And hey, when he gets back to Northwestern he’ll be a certified campus celeb. If anything, Purple Haze shows will get record attendance.

So let’s look back on Park’s highs and lows on Idol, and await his return back to Evanston.
