Last Friday night at Patten Gymnasium, A&O productions representatives in black t-shirts herded hundreds of Northwestern’s finest, tipsiest young scholars into the hangar-like gym space to hear rapper Ludacris. Opening for Luda were the LA-based rap groups Pacific Division and The Knux. We sat down with the latter group in the lobby of their luxury hotel accommodations, the Evanston Best Western, to talk about mixing up genres, brotherly love and their growing fame.
The group consists of Krispy Kreme and Rah Amillio, the pseudonyms for the two MCs who make up the Knux. They are brothers two years apart who were party promoters in New Orleans where they grew up. After Hurricane Katrina, the duo relocated to Houston and then LA, where they have since risen to become independent minded, genre-bending major-label artists. Listen to our interview with The Knux on NBeyond.
