Niteskool is bringing indie rock band Tapes ‘n Tapes for its annual spring show. The band will play at 7 p.m. in the Louis Room in Norris on Thursday, April 16.
After bringing Girl Talk to campus last year, the group wanted something “more indie rock, less hip-hop,” according to Niteskool Vice President Lynn Stransky. And after a “long, strenuous, booking process,” it finalized Tapes ‘n Tapes, the four-person rock band from Minnesota.
Tickets are on sale in the Norris Box Office, and are $10 for students and a guest, and $15 for the general public.
Tapes ‘n Tapes came to prominence largely through its appearance in the online music world, and booked a gig at Lollapalooza in 2007. Some of their popular singles include “The Illiad” and “Insistor,” which was featured in the movie Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist.
Stransky said part of the calculation for choosing the band was that “even if you’re not into them, it will be enjoyable.”
